Health DG: Nurse died of heart attack
Mar 19, 2021
The Health Ministry has confirmed the recent death of a nurse in Sungai Petani, Kedah is not related to the Covid-19 vaccine that she received a week ago.
Its director general says post-mortem results showed the cause of death of the 45-year-old nurse was a heart attack.
Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah stressed that to date, the vaccine had not led to any deaths.
The government has yet to decide on allowing the public to travel across states to return to their hometowns for Hari Raya.
Putrajaya says the Health Ministry will advise the National Security Council on the matter depending on daily recorded cases of Covid-19.
This comes as daily Covid-19 cases continued to dip below the 2,000 mark, with 1,213 infections.
Putrajaya will consider giving a third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as a booster should the pandemic become endemic.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Minister says studies have shown that there is a possibility that a third dose is needed next year.
