Msia to receive second batch of Sinovac vaccine this month
Apr 09, 2021
The second batch of China’s Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia this month.
Chinese officials say the latest delivery would consist of 2.5 million doses.
Overall, Malaysia is expected to receive 14 million of Sinovac’s CoronaVac vaccines until September.
The Information Department has been directed to help the public, especially senior citizens and persons with disabilities, register for their Covid-19 vaccine shots.
The Communications and Multimedia Ministry says the department’s district offices will approach those groups through the programmes it organises.
Phase 2 of the vaccination programme is scheduled to start on April 19 involving those above 60, disabled or suffer from co-morbidities.
Malaysia reported 1,285 Covid-19 infections yesterday, along with 4 fatalities.
Selangor topped the list of new daily cases with 374, followed by Sarawak and Penang.
4 Covid-19 clusters were detected yesterday, with 3 linked to workplaces.
