AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to be offered nationwide

Those in other states will soon be able to voluntarily register for the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, following the vaccine’s successful opt in program in KL, and Selangor.

Minister-in-charge of the National Immunisation Program assures that future registrations will focus on those who do not have access to the Internet.

“Going forward in designing the further roll out of the AstraZeneca opt in program, we will take into account people who are unable to access the website and we will reach out to our community clinics to ensure that we can offer this on a voluntary basis to people who may not have access.”

Malaysia is expected to receive another million doses this month.

New COVID-19 cases return below 2k

Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases is back to below the 3,000 mark.

The Health Ministry recorded 2,500 infections, with Selangor, Kelantan, and Sarawak having the most cases.

The death toll has also risen to 1,551 after 18 more patients succumbed to the virus.
