State governments and private healthcare are allowed to purchase COVID-19 vaccines other than those available under the National Immunisation Program.
The program’s coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin says the vaccines must be approved by the World Health Organisation, as well as registered with the government’s regulatory agency.
He adds that if these parties are keen to buy vaccines used under the immunization program, they will have to wait as priority is given to cover the Federal govt’s supplies.
