No disciplinary action against contract doctors who staged walkout

The Health Minister has assured that no disciplinary action will be taken against contract doctors that were involved in a demonstration on Monday.
Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba also says that any intention to eventually employ contract doctors on a permanent basis requires constitutional amendments.
Contract healthcare workers staged a nationwide walkout two days ago, calling for job security and opportunities to further their medical careers, among others.

The Health Minister says the occupancy rate at Low-risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre nationwide is at 61%.
He noted that the Ministry has provided nearly 30,000 beds at all the 132 centres throughout the country.
There are currently some 170,000 Covid-19 patients seeking treatment for the virus.
Malaysia reported 207 deaths from Covid-19 yesterday, for a second consecutive day.
The number of patients admitted to ICUs nationwide has hit a record high of 1,023 people.
This as we reported a slight rise in Covid-19 cases with 16,117 infections.
