Health DG: Postpone all Parliament activities over two-week period
Aug 02, 2021
The Health Ministry has recommended for all activities in Parliament House to be postponed over a two-week period.
The is after several cases were recently detected at the premises.
The Health Director General adds 6 cases with the potential for being super-spreaders were detected among the positive Covid-19 cases in Parliament.
This as the special Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara sitting were postponed indefinitely, as a precaution against Covid-19.
17,150 Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, raising the overall total to over 1.1 million.
Selangor, KL, Kedah, Johor and Sabah registered fresh infections in the four digits.
Another 160 people succumbed to the coronavirus.
Some 85,000 teachers in schools nationwide are expected to receive at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before the school session begins next month.
The Health Minister says the Education Ministry has given the full list of names to vaccine authorities to ensure that teachers are vaccinated before schools reopen.
