Plans to reopen Tioman and Genting Highlands delayed

Authorities have delayed plans to reopen Genting Highlands and Pulau Tioman on October 1st.
This follows a recent announcement that interstate travel and tourism-related activities will only be allowed, once 90% of adults are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
For now, only Pahang residents are allowed to visit the popular destinations.

New COVID-19 cases rise to 11k
New COVID-19 cases in Malaysia rose slightly, after we recorded 11,332 infections today.
Sarawak was the only state with over 2 thousand cases.
Meanwhile, Johor had the second most infections, ahead of Selangor, and Kelantan.

Senior citizens not ordered to surrender their driving license
People over the age of 70 do not have to surrender their driving licences.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong says his ministry has never issued such a directive.
He also pointed out that age does not influence your ability to drive.
This comes amid calls to restrict senior citizens from renewing their license, due to concerns that their health condition could result in road accidents.
