Budget 2022: Msia's highest ever allocation

The government has tabled Budget 2022 in Parliament.
It’s the biggest-ever budget in Malaysian history, with an allocation of RM332.1 billion.
It’s nearly RM10 billion more than the previous Budget.
The Finance Minister says the new budget will introduce the Bantuan Keluarga Malaysia initiative.
Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul bin Tengku Abdul Aziz say RM2,000 will be given to households with three or more children with household incomes below RM2,500.
Meanwhile, single parents earning less than RM5,000 a month will be given an additional RM500.
This means eligible single parent households with three or more children can receive up to RM2,500 under BKM.
Meanwhile, elderly households will be given an additional RM300.
Civil servants on Grade 56 and below will be given a one-off cash assistance worth RM700.
Meanwhile, government pensioners will receive RM350.
The government is also proposing a higher excise duty for nicotine-based vape liquids and gels.

The Health Minister says he will also announce booster shot alternatives.
Khairy Jamaluddin says for example, this applies to those who are allergic to certain vaccines.
On another note, Khairy has reiterated that the method of mixing vaccines is safe.
He himself was initially a Sinovac recipient and recently took the Pfizer jab as his third dose.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry reported a slight dip in new COVID cases, at 6,060 today.

Rotation classes to cease for schools with high vaccination rate
Certain students will no longer need to attend classes on a rotational basis starting November 8th.
The Education Ministry says the new ruling will apply to institutes with COVID-19 vaccination rates that have reached 90%.
