RM5k funeral aid to be given to flood victim next-of-kin

Funeral assistance worth RM 5,000 will be given to households who lost family members during the floods.
The National Disaster Management Agency says this is on top of the initial RM1,000 cash aid for flood-hit households.
Its director general says those eligible to apply are Malaysian citizens with a valid identity card.
Datuk Aminuddin Hassim understands that flood victims may not have their identity cards with them.
As such, they will need a reference from their community leaders

Flood victims who choose to stay home still given help
The Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department says many flood victims chose to stay at their homes, despite rising water levels.
Its director-general understands that it is due to fears of contracting COVID-19 at relief centers.
Despite their reluctance to evacuate, he assures that such victims are monitored and given necessities.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Mohd Hamdan Wahid stressed that his personnel are prepared to help everyone, regardless of their nationality.

KKM ready to deal with water-borne disease following floods
The government is ready to deal with water-borne diseases at relief centers following the ongoing flood situation.
The Health Ministry says so far, the most serious case was in Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam involving a two-year old.
The child has since been sent to hospital for treatment.
