Daily COVID Cases Remain At Above 4k

New COVID-19 cases in Malaysia remained at above 4,000 today
According to the Health Director General, 4,744 new infections have been logged.
It's up by 678 cases compared to yesterday.

Umrah To Resume On Feb 8th
Muslims in Malaysia will be allowed to conduct Umrah pilgrimages to Saudi Arabia starting on February 8th.
The Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister says this is after the government decided not to extend the one-month suspension, which was imposed due to the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
However, new SOPs will be drawn up.

Johor Election: PKR To Contest Under Own Logo
PKR will contest under its own logo for the upcoming Johor state election, while DAP and Amanah will run under the Pakatan Harapan banner.
PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also confirmed that the coalition will contest in all 56 seats.
Meanwhile, Johor police say some 11,000 personnel will be mobilised for the election.
A preliminary plan for the polls has already been drawn up, and it will be fine-tuned later once more details, including COVID-19 SOPs, are announced.
