'Test and Release' SOPs for S'pore, Thailand, Cambodia VTLs

Starting today, SOPs for air vaccinated travel lanes with Singapore, Thailand, and Cambodia will be standardised based on the ‘test and release’ method.

The Transport Ministry says this means travellers can go straight to their respective accommodations, once they have conducted their COVID-19 test at the terminal upon arrival.

However, they must self-isolate while waiting for the result.

Penang ready for air VTL with Singapore

Penang is ready to welcome back foreign tourists under the air VTL between the state and Singapore, which starts today.

Authorities say thorough preparations were made to ensure the program runs smoothly.

They also hope that all parties, especially tourists and tourism industry players, will strictly abide by SOPs as a precaution against COVID-19.

More Ampang residents told to vacate following landslide

80 residents from 22 houses in Ampang have been ordered to vacate their homes as a safety precaution.

Police say this is after preliminary investigation reports concluded that there is slope instability in the area.

They add that permanent repairs to the slope, which is expected to take up to over a year, will begin immediately.

This, following a landslide in Taman Bukit Permai, which claimed four lives and injured one victim last week.
