The government is still studying all tax systems in the world, including whether to reintroduce the Goods and Service Tax, GST, in Malaysia.

The Finance Ministry says the reintroduction of GST will be taken to the Cabinet, if studies show the tax is beneficial.

It adds that it would take at least nine months to reintroduce GST, after it is approved by Parliament.

The Finance Minister has rubbished rumours he will be contesting the Kuala Selangor parliamentary seat.

Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz says he is NOT thinking of politics as he is focused on efforts to recover the economy.

The Kuala Selangor parliamentary seat is currently held by Amanah’s Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad who earlier said he will not be contesting in GE15, to make way for the party’s young leaders.

Parents urged to look out for signs of mental disorder

Malaysians must be open to talk about mental health issues.

Clinical child psychologist Dr Noor Aishah Rosli says this includes parents whose children may be showing signs of a psychological disorder.

She stressed that parents must not shy away from the matter.

She says communities must also come together to support those facing mental health problems.

She also urged parents to pay close attention to their young kids growing up, because those as young as two year’s old can start showing signs of mental issues.

Among the signs to look out for include a sudden change in bevahiour such as refusing to eat, aggression, and hyperactivity.

This comes after the Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry recently urged parents not to hide their kid’s strange behaviour, as such behaviour could be due to a mental disorder.
