More details needed for mandatory death penalty abolition

Jun 16, 2022

more details needed for mandatory death penalty abolition

More needs to be done following the Cabinet’s decision to abolish the mandatory death penalty.

Experts say the government needs to list out the types of criminal offences that carry the sentence because details for now are unclear.

They want to know whether the abolishment would involve all offences that carry the sentence.

They say doing so is necessary as the government plans to carry out a public survey on the abolition of the mandatory death penalty.
