Man jailed after exposing 4-year-old to drugs

A man in Kelantan has been sentenced to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to child endangerment.
He was convicted for exposing his 4-year-old nephew to methamphetamine and morphine, causing the child to suffer from drug toxicity.
Earlier, police said the boy may have accidentally ingested the drugs while in his uncle’s car.
The child was sent to hospital in critical condition last week.

Event organiser apologises for pork flavoured souvenir
The organiser of a blood donation program in Johor has apologised to participants who received a souvenir bag, which contained pork flavoured instant noodles.
They told Harian Metro that the matter was not intentional and will take full responsibility over the incident.
They add that they will give their full cooperation to the authorities to assist in investigations.
Meanwhile, according to initial police investigations, the blood drive was jointly organised by an NGO and a hospital, and was held at a shopping centre in Batu Pahat recently.

Lahad Datu MP quits Bersatu
Lahad Datu MP Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi has left Bersatu - just six months after joining the party.
He says he decided to quit the party as he was not given any role, saying he was promised a role to lead the party in the Lahad Datu parliamentary area, and Segama state constituency.
The former tourism, arts, and culture minister says he will be an independent MP.
