The Cabinet will hold a discussion today regarding the SOP for the entry of foreign travelers.
Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa says a collective decision will be made by all relevant ministries, as the matter involves not just public health and safety, but also tourism and the economy.
This, following calls for more stringent screenings at our borders…amid the spike in Covid-19 cases in China.
Meanwhile, the Melaka state government could make face masks compulsory again, if Covid-19 infections worsen.

Separately, the Health Ministry says it is stepping up enforcement against unhygienic eateries that ignore food handling guidelines.
This, after a popular roti canai stall in Penang was shut down for two weeks, after a viral video showed a worker preparing food in an unhygienic manner.

And, the Youth and Sports Minister says the independent probe into the volleyball slapping incident will continue.
Hannah Yeoh explained that even though the parents have expressed their views, the investigation will go on, to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.
It comes after the father of one of the two girls who were slapped by their volleyball coach, said he forgives the teacher.
The dad says the coach was merely trying to encourage his daughter…and hopes no action will be taken against him.
