Michelle Yeoh gets Oscars nod

Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh has created history by becoming the first ever Malaysian to be nominated for an Academy Award.
She’s up for an Oscar in the Best Actress category for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
The movie received 11 nominations in total including for Best Picture.
Meanwhile, “Nattu Nattu” from the movie RRR is in the running for Best Original Song…the first time an Indian movie has been nominated at the Oscars for anything other than Best International Film.

The number of flood evacuees in Johor continues to increase, hitting over 3,300 as at this morning.
The victims are being housed at 32 evacuation centers across the districts of Segamat, Kota Tinggi, Kluang and Mersing.
Meanwhile, the number of flood victims in Beluran, Sabah is up to 89…while there are seven evacuees in Rompin, Pahang.

The Education Ministry has cleared the air regarding allegations that a school in Johor had held an SPM workshop only for Muslim students.
The Ministry says it has found that the workshop is for all students… adding that there had been a miscommunication about it being broken up into two sessions, to avoid disturbing those who were preparing for Chinese New Year.
