Guidelines Issued For Palestine Solidarity Week

The Education Ministry has issued guidelines for the Palestine Solidarity Week in schools.
It includes a ban on the use of toy weapons…while organisers are also urged to avoid extremist rhetoric…or anything that may lead to confrontation.
Instead, schools have been told to focus on peace, humanity and understanding.
This comes after a recent viral video showed a school event that involved the use of replica weapons in a confrontational manner.

Be careful of scammers posing as NGO’s to collect donations for the Palestinians.
The Communications and Digital Minister says some even resort to using pictures of mosques and children to dupe the public…but the money collected does not reach the intended recipients.
Fahmi Fadzil reminded anyone who wants to make a contribution to use the official channels, or to refer to the authorities to find out if the collection is legit.

Awareness and compliance to traffic laws by commercial vehicle drivers is still low.
The JPJ’s senior enforcement director says they view the matter seriously…adding that they will not compromise with companies, owners and drivers who continue to disregard regulations.
This, as more than 73 thousand summonses and notices were issued for various traffic offences involving commercial vehicles…under its Ops Patuh Khas operation this month.

The government is leaning towards targeted subsidies to address any sharp increase in chicken prices, once the price float comes into effect tomorrow.
The Agriculture and Food Security Minister says this is seen as a more appropriate measure, to ensure only the needy could enjoy the subsidy.
