Loke Rules Out JPJ Summons Discounts

Motorists will NOT be offered discounts to settle their JPJ road summonses.
The Transport Minister says JPJ summonses are meant to educate the public on the importance of road safety, adding that discounts might imply a sense of leniency.
Anthony Loke said this amid complaints about a lack of discounts for JPJ summonses.
He adds that other agencies, like the police, may have other considerations when offering their discounts.

The Health Ministry will continue to keep tabs on the country’s Covid-19 situation, amid the current spike in cases.
Its minister says it expects cases to continue to rise, especially during the Christmas period, where people are expected to visit their friends and relatives.
However, she says she expects the situation to remain under control.
She also reminded people to keep following SOPs such as wearing face masks in crowded places and maintaining good hygiene.

Police have so far recorded statements from 20 individuals over the murder of 6-year-old Zayn Rayyan.
They were from individuals including the boy’s parents and the person who found his body.
Cops have also gone house to house around the victim’s residential area, to gather information, while his clothes have been sent for forensic analysis.
Zayn’s body was found on Wednesday night, a day after he was reported missing.
