Hit-And-Run Cop Charged With Murder

The senior police officer accused of killing a teenaged motorcyclist has been charged at the Ipoh Magistrates Court with murder.  

However, no plea was recorded by the accused, as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.  

The officer is accused of killing the 17-year-old SPM candidate in a hit-and-run incident last week.  

The accused allegedly ran over the teenager's motorcycle after a brief chase, and the victim died of severe chest and abdominal injuries. 

Meanwhile, the IGP has welcomed the Attorney General's decision to charge the officer with murder.  

He says the decision proves that authorities conducted their investigation transparently.
