Number Of Flood Evacuees On The Decline

The flood situation is showing further signs of improvement…with the number of evacuees down to just under seven thousand across three states.
According to the Social Welfare Department’s portal…nearly all the victims are in Kelantan…with less than a hundred evacuees combined in Johor and Pahang.
All earlier evacuees in Terengganu, have been allowed to return home.

Meanwhile, the Terengganu education department is allowing all school students affected by the flooding to wear normal attire when the new term begins this coming week.
It says students whose books have been damaged can also come to school, and just need to report the matter to the class teacher.

Malaysia is facing a shortage of cancer specialists to cope with the increase in patients over the past decade.
Utusan, citing data from the Malaysian Oncology Society, says we currently only have around 130 such specialists…even though we need closer to 300 based on the cancer cases received.

In other news…the Federal Territories Minister has instructed KL City Hall to step up patrols and surveillance against parking touts, following numerous complaints about the illegal activity.
