Here's Your New Water Tariff Rate
Jan 17, 2024
The water tariff revision for the Peninsular and Labuan from February 1st will see domestic users paying an average of 22 sen more per cubic metre of water.
The National Water Services Commission, SPAN says this increase is low, and it still cannot meet the actual cost to prepare treated water.
In light of the increase, SPAN has urged state water utilities to maintain existing initiatives for consumers, including rebates for the B40 group.
It also urged everyone to use water responsibly.
This includes using water-efficient products, as well as checking and fixing any leaking pipes and faucets.
People should also start harvesting rainwater, and use recycled water for non-drinking purposes.
