Cabinet Briefly Discussed Najib Pardon Appeal

The Cabinet only briefly discussed Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s appeal for a royal pardon.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says its because the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Pardons Board, and not the Cabinet.
In a separate development, the Home Minister says the Cabinet has agreed to extend the freeze on hiring foreign workers, that was first imposed in March last year.
He says the current quota, plus the registered recalibration program is sufficient to meet the country’s labour needs.
