amendments to child act to be tabled soon

Proposed amendments to the Child Act should be tabled in Parliament soon.

The Women, Family, and Community Development Ministry says they're finalizing the details, with the bill likely to be tabled by the end of this year or early next year.

It says this will help provide comprehensive regulations to govern key issues involving kids.

It will also help the Child Development Department stand on its own, independent of the Social Welfare Department.

In a related development, the Communications Minister says he'll soon take a detailed look at the online ambassador plan to avoid any overlap with existing government communication channels.

Meanwhile, FOMCA is also urging the government to conduct inspections to address supply shortages in certain areas.

This, after the Prime Minister announced that the retail prices for grade A, B, and C chicken eggs have been reduced 3 sen respectively.
