Govt Working On Accreditation For Bus Drivers

The Transport Ministry says it's fine-tuning the issuance of accreditation cards for bus drivers.
Minister Anthony Loke says the card will help ensure that both drivers and bus operators are held accountable in case of any complaints or accidents.
Currently, the accreditation card is only issued to e-hailing and taxi drivers.
This comes after the recent fatal bus crash in Genting Higlands which resulted in the death of two tourists from China.

Also, the Transport Ministry says it's working towards rectifying any weaknesses found in its MRT services.
This, after the Auditor General’s reported revealed that the service had failed to meet the targets for passenger numbers and frequency of trains during peak hours.

The Auditor General's report has also found that the National Council of Professors had misused almost 400 thousand ringgit to finance the operation of two private companies.
A separate revelation in the report showed that the International Islamic University had failed to collect nearly 9.2 million ringgit in fees from international students, despite struggling with debt.

The Fire and Rescue Department has confirmed that the area where a gas leak occurred at KLIA yesterday is now safe.
Authorities also explained that the leak has been traced back to an abandoned skid tank that was left unattended for nine years.

The federal fisheries department has denied rumours of used plastic being processed into fish feed pellets.
It clarified that the rumours arose from confusion about the packaging used by the factory for plastic pellets.
