The number of Malaysians aged 60 and above is rising.

The Statistics Department says 2.6 million people – or 7.7 percent of the population –fall within this age group.

Perak currently leads the way with the highest number of elderly, at almost 15% of the state’s population.

This, as Malaysia is set to become an ageing nation by 2030.

The Cabinet has condemned the assassination of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran yesterday and demanded an immediate investigation to find the perpetrators.

Also, the Prime Minister's Office has criticized social media giant Meta for removing an Instagram post that featured a meeting between the PM and Hamas leaders in Doha.

Bank Negara has frozen 92 bank accounts and confiscated luxury items all worth over 30 million ringgit, allegedly associated with an investment firm.

The central bank says the firm has been accused of violating the Financial Services Act, and other financial regulations.
