FT Minister Says KL Is Safe

KL is still safe, despite the recent sinkhole incidents.
The Federal Territories Ministry also assured that it's working closely with the KL mayor to map out the city and identify areas with potential sinkholes.
Meanwhile, the ministry has put approvals for all new development projects in the capital on hold until a task force is formed to look into the Jalan Masjid India incident.
This, as rescuers discovered what may be a new lead in their search for the sinkhole victim.
Firefighters say K9 dogs and cameras have detected an object lodged between the sinkhole and a sewage chamber nearby.
As such, search teams will focus on the obstruction, that's about 80 meters away from the initial site.

In a related development, the government says it'll conduct an integrity audit on utility systems at Masjid India, after search and rescue operations for the victim are completed.
The DPM explained that the inspection will help ensure public safety and determine how to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Also, DBKL has cancelled all Merdeka eve celebrations at Dataran Merdeka tomorrow, in light of the recent incidents in the capital city.

All travelers entering through KLIA Terminal 1 will be screened by thermal scanners.
Its part of the Health Ministry's efforts to tighten Mpox screening procedures.
Anyone exhibiting symptoms such as a high temperature, will then be referred to the nearest healthcare facility immediately.

Do not give money to parties claiming to collect donations to allegedly cover the cost of treating Palestinians in Malaysia.
The Prime Minister warned that the government does not collect funds for this purpose, adding that anyone doing so are likely scammers.
He also urged those who've been approached, to lodge a report with the authorities.
