IGP: Rescued Kids Showed Signs Of Abuse, Neglect

Health checks have been conducted on the nearly 400 kids who were rescued from dozens of welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan last week.

IGP Tan Sri Razarudin Husain says the screenings have uncovered signs of physical and emotional abuse, grooming, child labour, neglect and malnutrition.

The IGP adds that nearly 150 of these kids have been placed under the temporary care of the Welfare Department.

The rest are being housed at the Police Training Center in KL.

The Education Ministry says it'll bring the matter of the absence of major exams for Year Six and Form Three students to the Cabinet for discussions.

This, after the DPM highlighted how the UPSR and PT3 had served as an effective benchmark to gauge a student’s education level before they sit for their SPM.

His comments also came in the wake of last year’s SPM …that saw over ten thousand students skip the exam due to problems in reading, writing and arithmetic.

One new positive case of Mpox has been detected in Malaysia, involving a patient who started showing symptoms on September 11^th.

The Health Ministry says the latest case involves the less severe Clade 2 variant of the disease.
