Restaurants Say No To Price Hike

Mamak restaurants nationwide – including those in Johor - will not be going through with a proposed 5% price hike next year.

The Malaysian Muslim Restaurant Operators Association told this to FMT after discussions with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry.

Earlier, it was reported that 300 mamak restaurants in Johor were planning to increase food prices due to rising operational costs, and the new minimum wage.

However, the association assured that these reports were likely the result of a misunderstanding.

PTPTN could suspend funding for university courses with student repayment rates below 50%.

The fund told NST that the move is part of efforts to encourage repayment among students.

Earlier, the Higher Education Ministry revealed that so far, loans amounting to 32 billion ringgit still remain unpaid.

As such, it's appointed over two thousand district retailers and wholesalers nationwide to act as mini-stock holders.
