Muslims Must Continue Supporting Palestine
Jan 17, 2025
Muslims must continue to provide aid to the Palestinian people, following the reported ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The DeFacto Religious Affairs Minister says it is everyone’s responsibility to help them rebuild their lives, following a brutal conflict that has gone on for 15 months.
He also backed the PM’s statement, that the ceasefire must serve as a steppingstone towards the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state.
Initial reports said that the ceasefire is due to come into effect on Sunday, once it's ratified by the Israeli cabinet.
However, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed the cabinet vote, after accusing Hamas of trying to make last minute changes to the agreement.
The US govt says it’s confident that the deal will proceed, after tying up some ‘loose ends’.
