The Foreign Ministry has issued a statement strongly opposing US President Donald Trump's plans to take over Gaza after relocating the Palestinians.  

It adds that such actions are considered ethnic cleansing, which is a clear violation of international law. 

Earlier, the United Nations also warned Trump that such a move could potentially destabilize the region.

The proposed new guidelines for ceremonies involving Muslims at non-Muslim events are still under discussion.  

The Religious Affairs Minister says the matter will be comprehensively discussed during the next Meeting of the National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs. 

He also clarified that the guidelines are aimed at ensuring that religious activities are conducted in an orderly manner and to ensure it does not contain elements that could offend the sensitivities of Muslims.

The government is stepping up efforts to improve the absentee rate among SPM candidates.

As such, it'll conduct early detection on Form 4 students who are deemed at risk of dropping out and implement the appropriate interventions.

This, as the number of candidates who missed the 2024 sitting decreased by nearly 20% compared to the previous year.

Police are stepping up efforts to ensure that Thaipusam celebrations next week will go smoothly.

They'll be deploying some 1,500 personnel around Batu Caves to maintain order, with millions of devotees and visitors expected for the festival.
