Activist Moots Mandatory Jailtime For Child Sex Offenders

Convicted child sex offenders MUST face mandatory jail sentences.
According to a children's rights activist, it would serve as an effective deterrent to such crimes.
She told FMT it's because handing out fines only would do little to prevent them from committing such offences again.
This comes amid the debate over the RM6,000 fine handed to a man for recording obscene videos of his teenaged stepdaughter.

As of this morning, around 7,000 people were still affected by floods in Johor.
This, as the Johor MB announced financial aid of RM3,000 for each household impacted by the current floods in the state, which will be paid out before Aidilfitri.
Flood victims who did not register can still receive the aid, by submitting appeals at their relevant district office.
Meanwhile the Social Welfare Department's portal reported 900 people at flood relief centres in Sarawak, and Sabah has 600 evacuees.
