nearly 7,000 traffic cops on duty for hari raya

Nearly seven thousand traffic police officers will be deployed around the country to ensure a smooth and safe journey for motorists over the Aidilfitri balik kampung period.

The cops will also be getting aerial support from PDRM’s Air Operations Force, to help monitor the expected increase in traffic.

According to the Transport Ministry, some 500 buses were inspected over the past week…with 11 of them issued with notices for non-roadworthiness.

The number of flood evacuees across three states is down to around 4,800 as of this morning.

Johor is still the worst affected, with just under four thousand evacuees.

Over in Sabah…the number of victims is up to around 580…while there are around 260 evacuees in Sarawak.

-

Meanwhile, Met Malaysia has ended its continuous rain warning for parts of Kelantan and Terengganu which had been issued earlier.

The agency says conditions in these two states have improved, based on its analysis of weather patterns.

-
