Apr 20, 2025

laws could be changed to deal with ai

The government is considering changing existing laws, to address the misuse of Artificial Intelligence – especially for cases involving minors.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says its already reviewing the legal aspects to see what improvements can be made, while further discussions with the relevant stakeholders are also being planned.

This follows a recent case where AI technology was used to manipulate images of former secondary school students in Johor, before being sold online.

There have been no changes to the US visa policy for Malaysians.

Wisma Putra confirmed that although there've been recent reports about immigration changes in the US...these do not affect Malaysian nationals.

Nevertheless, it is advising Malaysians who are currently in America, or planning to travel there, to stay updated on the latest entry and visa requirements.

-

Police say they've completed their investigation into the case where an incomplete image of the Jalur Gemilang was published by a local Chinese daily, with the matter to be referred to the Attorney General's chambers.

-

The Transport Ministry will soon introduce a single module for the theory class, for those applying for motorcycle and car licenses…in a bid to cut costs and reduce the time taken to obtain a license.

-

And, Zoo Negara says its organising several activities for Malaysians to bid farewell to the two giant pandas there, which are set to be returned to China next month.

Under a recent agreement signed between Malaysia and China…a new pair of pandas will be sent over here for the next ten years.
