No Need For New Laws For FRU Crash Culprits

There is no need to amend existing laws to take action against those responsible for the fatal accident that claimed the lives of nine FRU personnel this week.
The DPM says current legislation is sufficient to punish the guilty parties, as long as these laws are enforced properly.
Meanwhile, police say the owner of the company that operated the lorry involved in the accident, will be summoned soon to assist with the investigation.
Cops add that the probe will cover all angles , including human negligence, as well as technical and environmental issues.

The Public Service Department is finalizing a study that'll focus on introducing flexible work-from-home options for civil servants.
The department says a work-from-home scheme will be helpful for those that require these arrangements, such as pregnant women.

In Langkawi, a navy boat lost control and collided with a tourist boat before crashing onto shore, during a rehearsal for the LIMA exhibition.
The navy says no serious injuries were reported, adding that they are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.

A court in Thailand has issued 17 arrest warrants for people connected to the skyscraper under construction, that collapsed during an earthquake in March, killing at least 89 victims.
Authorities add that the warrants were issued to people involved in the design, construction, and building supervision of the tower.

And a UK court has charged American singer Chris Brown for allegedly assaulting a producer at a nightclub in London in 2023.
Brown is currently on tour and was scheduled to play several shows across the UK before he was arrested.
