ASEAN Summit: Remote Learning For 71 Schools

May 18, 2025

asean summit: remote learning for 71 schools

The Education Ministry has identified 71 schools in KL and Selangor, that will be allowed to conduct home-based teaching and learning during the ASEAN Summit later this month.

Parents, students and teachers are advised to refer to their respective school’s official communication channels for more information.

The permission to conduct classes virtually from the 26th to the 28th is to ensure that lessons are not disrupted by the expected road closures and traffic congestion in parts of the Klang Valley in conjunction with the summit.

Separately, admission offers to Form Six semester one for the 2025 academic year can be viewed online starting tomorrow.

Students can also check their status with their respective schools.

The Education Ministry adds that students who do not receive an offer, can submit an appeal from tomorrow until the 25th….with the results of these appeals to be published early next month.

The Covid 19 situation in the country remains under control and below the alert level.

The Health Ministry said this, despite a recent increase in cases in neighbouring countries like Singapore and Thailand.

It adds that there’ve been more than 11 thousand Covid cases reported in the first 19 weeks of the year…marking a downward trend since the start of 2025.

The driver of the lorry that was involved in the fatal accident that claimed the lives of nine FRU personnel, will remain in police custody until the next court mention on June 17th.

This, after he was unable to pay the six thousand ringgit bail after being charged with dangerous driving.
