Six highways and 25 major roads in the Klang Valley will be closed or have traffic diverted from the 23rd to the 28th…in conjunction with the ASEAN Summit.

There will also be a dry run tomorrow and on Thursday.

Police say the closures will be done in stages between 8am and 8pm…involving routes around the KL city center…KLIA…the Subang Air Force base…KLCC…Istana Negara and major hotels in the city.

Cops are also advising Klang Valley residents to use public transport during this period.

Police have denied a since-deleted online post, claiming that Datin Seri Pamela Ling had been found dead.

The report had alleged that the statements recorded from her three kids recently, were to assist investigations into her death.

Selangor police, however, says the claim is entirely untrue, adding that they’ve not received any report about the discovery of a body as stated in the online post.

The pickup truck driver who crashed into a couple on a bike near the Duta toll plaza earlier this month has had his sentence increased.

The KL High Court has ruled that his jail term has been increased from 30 days to six months, although his initial 12 thousand ringgit fine was maintained.

The accused was also disqualified from obtaining a driving licence for five years.

The government hopes to reach more than ten thousand schools by the end of the year with its safe internet campaign.

The Communications Ministry says the program aims to create awareness among students about the dangers and benefits of using social media and the internet and how to stay safe online.

Several animal rights groups have lodged a police report over a Facebook post purportedly encouraging the poisoning and killing of stray dogs.

According to FMT, this comes after users of a Facebook page for a township in Seremban started sharing confessions and detailed instructions on how to harm these animals.
