The JPJ has introduced stricter inspection regulations for heavy vehicles, including requirements for deeper tire treads and proper bodywork.

It adds that the new regulations will also be accompanied by increased enforcement on the roads.

The improved measures are meant to address the recent rise in fatal accidents involving these vehicles, the most recent of which was the Teluk Intan crash that killed nine FRU members.

Work will begin next week, to rebuild some of the houses affected by the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion.

Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad or SPNB says the initial project will involve 11 homes that were completely destroyed, and six houses that need repairs.

A total of 81 homes were completed destroyed in April’s incident, while a further 81 were partially damaged.

The MCMC has taken down more than 100 thousand harmful social media posts as of April.

The Communications Ministry says most of these involved gambling and scam activities.

Its also repeating its call for the public to beware of get-rich-quick schemes…or deals with offers that are too good to be true.
