Putra Heights Blast: Rental Assistance Extended to 12 months

Selangor is extending its rental aid for victims of the Putra Heights gas pipeline explosion.
The state government says the six-month programme will now go on for up to a year, especially for those whose homes were completely destroyed.
The extension will ensure the victims have proper shelter until their properties are fully repaired.
81 homes were destroyed in the incident while over a hundred others suffered varying degrees of damage.

Authorities will fully enforce the Vehicle Entry Permit system for Singapore-owned vehicles from July 1st, some 9 months after it was first implemented.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke from that date, Singaporean vehicles who enter the country without the VEP will receive a RM300 summons and cannot leave the country until they pay up.
He adds that any enforcement activities will be limited to within the vicinity of JB, to prevent congestion along our land border areas.

Separately, the Transport Ministry has told Prasarana to improve safety at all its rail stations, which includes installing safety doors on platforms.
This, following the death of a foreign national who fell onto the tracks at the Pusat Bandar Puchong LRT station yesterday.
