Authorities have taken several steps to avoid congestion along our land border with Singapore, once the Vehicle Entry Permit is fully enforced from July 1st.
The JPJ says among other things, foreign-owned vehicles without a VEP will NOT be told to turn back upon entry.
Instead, non-compliant vehicles will be flagged in the system and will be barred from leaving Malaysia until they pay the RM300 compound.
The summonses can be settled at payment counters away from exit points, to reduce the possibility of congestion heading into Singapore.
