Police Open Probe Into Fatal Crash

Police have opened a full investigation into this morning’s fatal bus accident along the East West Highway, that claimed 15 lives and left 27 others injured.
Bukit Aman’s Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department director says its still too early to determine the exact focus of the investigation.
However, updates will be provided as soon as officers are done gathering the relevant information and witness statements.
This morning’s incident occurred when the bus, carrying students from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, collided with an MPV near Gerik.

The Defence Ministry has identified several reasons behind the absence of over 200 participants from the latest edition of the National Service Training Program.
It explained that health issues and job commitments were among the top excuses.
The ministry adds that it will conduct a comprehensive assessment to resolve these issues, and to determine whether to take disciplinary action against the absentees.
