MoF Clarifies EPF Pension Proposal

The EPF's proposed monthly pension scheme will only apply to new contributors.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying says if the plan is implemented, current members will be given the option to choose monthly payouts.
She adds the government will consider any public feedback on the scheme before making a final decision.
Under the proposal, EPF savings would be split into two sections: flexible savings, which can be withdrawn anytime; and income savings, which would be paid out periodically until it's fully utilised.

The Home Ministry says police have finished their probe into the death of Form 1 student Zara Qairina in Sabah, and the investigation paper will soon be handed over to the prosecutor's office.
Around 60 individuals were questioned to help with the investigation.
Meanwhile, the IGP has urged netizens to stop speculating on the case, as such statements could cause public anxiety.

Four 13-year-old students have been released on police bail, after ther were were detained for allegedly assaulting a classmate at a shopping mall in Kajang.
So far, cops have recorded statements from nine individuals, including the four students involved.
The incident left the victim with suffered minor facial injuries.
