Bukit Aman Task Force Takes Over Zara Qairina Probe

Bukit Aman has deployed a special task force to Sabah to take over the investigation into Zara Qairina's death.
Cops add that this is part of efforts to ensure a more transparent, professional, and thorough investigation.
They also urged the public to give authorities space to carry out their duties, and to refrain from making any speculations.
The 13-year-old died after apparently falling from the third floor of her school dorm, amid allegations that she may have been bullied.

The Education Ministry is stepping up efforts to combat bullying.
As such, it's directed all state and district education officers to carry out spot checks in schools.
Meanwhile, officials will also be conducting night visits to boarding schools where they will monitor students and assess their living conditions.

Malaysia's fertility rate has dropped sharply to 1.7 children per woman in 2023, down from 4.0 in 1980.
The National Population and Family Development Board says this signals a demographic shift towards an ageing population.
The board also attributed the decline to lifestyle changes, rising living costs, delayed marriages, and a growing preference for smaller families.
