Attack On Rafizi's Son: What We Know So Far
Aug 14, 2025

Police have stepped up security surrounding Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and his family, following the attack on his son yesterday.
However, Selangor police declined to give further details.
Yesterday, the former Economy Minister said that the attack happened at a mall in Putrajaya.
His wife and son were approached by two suspects, who injected the 12-year-old with a syringe before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
So far police have interviewed 6 individuals over the case.
Meanwhile, Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar says efforts are underway to identify the duo.
Cops have already obtained CCTV footage from the scene, in hopes of tracing the suspects’ movements.
Besides this, efforts are underway to identify the substance that was injected into the boy.
Meanwhile, Datuk Shazeli says Rafizi's son is in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Rafizi revealed that his son will have to undergo constant medical tests for the next six months
The Pandan MP says it's to rule out the possibility that he was exposed to any dangerous substances.
He adds that so far, his son has not shown any signs of being injected with any drugs or poison.
Rafizi says the attack MAY be linked to a case he is looking into, as it happened a week after he met with a group of whistleblowers.
He also revealed that his wife received threatening text messages this morning, and he believes it may have been an attempt to silence him.
In response, cops have urged Rafizi to lodge a report over the threats, to help with the investigation.
