Cops On Standby For ASEAN Summit

There will be a heightened police presence in and around KL over the coming week for the ASEAN Summit.
PDRM says some 10 thousand personnel, including plainclothes officers, will be deployed to maintain security and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
The IGP is also urging Malaysians to remain law-abiding and respectful, and to avoid engaging in any acts that could threaten public order.
Meanwhile, there will be a full rehearsal today and tomorrow, for the phased road closures and traffic diversions for the ASEAN Summit.
It will be conducted once in the morning until 8.45AM…and again in the evening until 7.45.

In a related development, Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be attending the ASEAN Summit after all.
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says Moscow will be represented by its Deputy PM instead.

The JPJ and PDRM will be standardizing their traffic compound rates and enforcement methods from January 1st.
