Monsoon Season Starts Thursday

We’re just two days away from the start of the Northeast Monsoon.
The Met Department says the phenomenon will continue until March next year, potentially bringing up to seven episodes of continuous heavy rain that could lead to flooding.
The Department is also urging the public, especially those in flood-prone areas, to remain vigilant and to follow the latest weather forecasts on its official website, app and social media channels.

PDRM will abide by the recent High Court directive, to reopen the investigation into missing pastor Raymond Koh and social activist Amri Che Mat.
The Home Minister says even though these two cases were inherited from the previous administration, the current government is committed to following up on the court’s decision and ensuring accountability.
Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail adds that he will ask the cops for a full and detailed briefing on the two cases, before issuing further statements.

UPKO has announced that it is pulling out of Pakatan Harapan, citing differences with national component parties over the interpretation and implementation of Sabah’s constitutional rights.
The party’s decision to split from the coalition comes a little over two weeks away from the Sabah state election.

DBKL says the stretch along Jalan Masjid India where a new sinkhole appeared yesterday, has been reopened after repairs were completed.
It adds that it will continue to monitor and inspect the area to ensure public safety.
