Non-cash transactions have become the predominant payment method for Malaysians.

According to a new IPSOS report, three in five Malaysians have used digital payments in the past three months.

This shift is attributed to rising consumer trust and a preference for faster, more rewarding payment options.

The report also revealed that most people rely on just one or two e-wallets, despite the wide range of providers in the market.

Police have reclassified the death of Reserve Officers Training Unit cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin as murder.

The directive came from the Attorney General’s Chambers, after it was briefed on the findings of the police investigation into the incident.

The 22-year-old cadet died in Johor back in July, with the initial probe focusing on sudden death.

Following the AG’s latest directive, Bukit Aman will now focus on identifying the individuals involved or responsible.

Drug abuse among young Malaysians is on the rise, with nearly 79 thousand cases recorded nationwide in the first half of the year.

The Home Ministry says curiosity was the leading factor leading to drug usage among Malaysians aged 15 to 30, followed by stress and peer pressure.

The findings were based on a comprehensive study conducted by the Youth and Sports Ministry, through a joint collaboration between the Institute for Youth Research and the National Anti-Drugs Agency.

The Transport Ministry says the compliance rate for the use of automatic speed limit devices for commercial vehicles has risen to over 48%...compared to just under 3% when enforcement began in October.

US Homeland Security says it will recommend a travel ban on several countries which it claims are "flooding" the US with criminal activity. 

It is currently not yet clear which countries the proposed travel ban will impact, or when it will begin.
