MEF Issues Warning Over Insurance Premiums
Dec 05, 2025

Workers could face changes to their companies’ medical insurance plans next year.
It's because of a survey by the Malaysian Employers Federation, which found that two-thirds of companies expect to see a big spike in their insurance premiums in 2026.
Only 31% of employers expect premiums to remain unchanged, while just 1% expect a drop.
The MEF warned that if there is a significant increase, many companies could either reduce their coverage, move to co-payment schemes, or even drop medical insurance altogether.

Initial police investigations claimed that the trio had attacked a cop with a machete.
