New MCMC Policy Hailed
Dec 15, 2025

The Education Ministry has welcomed MCMC's new policy, that automatically registers and licenses big social media platforms in Malaysia starting Jan 1st.
It says the move will go a long way to protect students and the education community from online threats including sexual exploitation and scams.
The IGP has also welcomed the policy, and hopes it will lead to more effective actions against harmful content.
Earlier, MCMC said the new policy covers social media and messaging services that have at least 8 million Malaysian users.

The DPM says the govt has taken steps to boost preparedness and early warning systems, ahead of a possible second wave of monsoon floods.
It's to ensure that evacuations are carried out quickly, especially in high-risk areas.
Recently, MetMalaysia issued a continuous rain alert for the whole of Kelantan and Terengganu, and parts of Pahang, Perak and Johor until this Thursday.

This, as Terengganu reported over 200 flood victims in Kemaman and Hulu Terengganu.
120 people are still displaced in Sarawak, but the situation has improved in Perak, where the last remaining flood shelter has closed.
