Govt Won't Adjust Budi95 Quota Based On Income
Jan 08, 2026

The quota for the Budi95 fuel scheme will not be adjusted based on an individual’s income classification.
This, despite some quarters calling for a more precise mechanism to run the program.
The Treasury Department explains that the program’s focus for now is on removing leakages in the use of subsidized fuel.
It adds that any kind of tiered system based on income is not being considered at the moment.

The government is committed to ensuring there will be no change to the price of the My50 public transport pass.
This despite passenger claims outpacing the program’s budget.

The agency adds that even though the monsoon season is expected to end in March…we still need to be alert for monsoon surges that can bring heavy rain at any time.

More than 61 thousand Malaysians have given up their citizenship over the past five years.
The National Registration Department says Singapore was the top destination for the majority of these individuals, followed by Australia.

It says such occurrences are rare, adding that the particular species was probably attracted there due the uncontrolled disposal of food and other waste...as well as habitat loss.
