The design of Malaysia's new passport and MyKad has not been released yet.

The Home Ministry says viral images currently being shared on social media allegedly showing the new look are fake and do not reflect the actual design.

The ministry adds that all information related to the design and upgraded security features of the identification documents will only be announced through its officialchannels.

The Transport Ministry is stepping up efforts to monitor heavy vehicles in real time.

As such, the government will appoint several companies to run a pilot project using telematics to track location, speed, driving behavior, and operating conditions.

It adds that the initiative will cover both buses and commercial transport vehicles.

This, in response to the high number of road accidents involving these vehicles nationwide.
